Ishani Shah

Ishani Shah

Physical therapist · PT, DPT

Orthopedic care, chronic pain and walking problems, with clear explanations in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi.

Ishani earned her bachelor's degree in physical therapy in India and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Loma Linda University in California. Her experience spans outpatient orthopedics, inpatient acute and post-acute care, neurological rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Outpatient orthopedic care is her main clinical interest.

She has treated patients recovering from surgery, overuse and repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain, posture and gait problems, work injuries and traumatic injuries. Ishani takes time to explain pain and treatment to patients and caregivers, and helps patients build small habits that support their health. Kindness and patience are central to how she works.

She speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi. Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling, hiking with her dog, meditation, yoga and painting.

Bhoomika Patel

Bhoomika Patel

Physical therapist · PT, DPT

Rehabilitation after surgery or injury, including fractures, stroke and balance problems. She welcomes questions about your care.

Bhoomika earned her doctorate in physical therapy from Arcadia University in Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience treating orthopedic conditions after surgery, repetitive strain injuries, fractures, stroke, postural problems and balance disorders.

She wants patients to feel comfortable asking questions and talking about their concerns. Listening closely and explaining symptoms are important parts of her care. Bhoomika supports patients throughout rehabilitation with treatment and patience, and values the relationships she builds along the way. She joined Back On Track because of the team's approach to patient care and has an interest in further specialist courses as treatments and techniques develop.

Away from work, Bhoomika enjoys cooking, watching movies, spending time with her daughter and traveling with her family.

Apoorva Phadke

Apoorva Phadke

Physical therapist · PT, DPT

Manual therapy and exercise for orthopedic recovery, with advanced training in orthopedic rehabilitation.

Apoorva earned her bachelor's degree in physical therapy at DES College of Physiotherapy in India, a master's in orthopedic rehabilitation at Sancheti Hospital in Pune, and a clinical doctorate in physical therapy at Loma Linda University. During her studies, she conducted and published research while developing her manual therapy skills.

Her clinical experience includes acute and chronic conditions, postural problems, and nonsurgical and postoperative orthopedic care. She has worked alongside orthopedic clinicians, neurologists, occupational therapists and orthotists. Her treatments include Maitland mobilization, myofascial and soft-tissue release, Kinesio taping, therapeutic exercise and ergonomics.

Apoorva continues to study new techniques and current evidence. She listens to each patient's experience and works with them toward a return to everyday activities. Outside work, she enjoys time with family and friends, hiking, cooking and music.

Fnu Shilpa

Fnu Shilpa

Physical therapist · PT, DPT

Care for pain, sports injuries and recovery after surgery. Her experience includes working with Olympian Mary Kom.

Shilpa studied at Rajiv Gandhi University in India and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana in 2021. She began practicing in 2008 at an obstetrics and gynecology clinic, then worked at a multispecialty hospital with clinicians from several fields.

She treats acute and chronic pain, orthopedic conditions after surgery and repetitive strain injuries. Her sports experience includes work with India's national women's boxing team, an under-16 women's basketball team and the Tennis Federation. In 2015, she also worked with Olympian Mary Kom.

Shilpa uses techniques including Maitland mobilization, myofascial release and Kinesio taping. She continues to develop her treatment skills and makes patient education part of her care. Outside the clinic, she enjoys camping, swimming and cooking for her children.

Ketaki Malshe

Orthopedic care before and after surgery, muscle and ligament injuries, and posture problems. She speaks English, Marathi and Hindi.

Ketaki graduated from DES College of Physiotherapy in India and has lived in the Bay Area since 2014. She has a particular interest in orthopedic rehabilitation before and after surgery. Her experience also includes muscle and ligament injuries, postural problems and degenerative conditions.

She helps patients work toward returning to everyday activities after major physical trauma, with a careful and compassionate approach. Ketaki speaks English, Marathi and Hindi. In her free time, she enjoys music and movies.

Wilson Xie

A UCSF and San Francisco State graduate whose interest in rehabilitation grew from sports and fitness.

Wilson earned a bachelor's degree in Human Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree through the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco State University.

His interest in physical therapy developed alongside his love of sports and fitness. He values movement and enjoys helping patients through rehabilitation. Outside work, Wilson plays volleyball, spends time at the beach, hikes, explores new foods and enjoys being with friends and family.

How your treatment time works

Your therapist uses hands-on care and mind-body techniques, reviews your home exercises and answers your questions. A trained rehab aide may help with additional exercises or treatment under your therapist's direction.

A standard session lasts 30 to 60 minutes. The clinic has curtained treatment areas and an exercise gym.

Your first appointment

Your follow-up care

Your one-on-one time includes hands-on care, a review of home exercises and questions about treatment. A trained rehab aide may help with additional exercises under your therapist’s direction.

Continuing at home

When your care plan ends, your therapist gives you instructions for continuing exercises at home. You can contact the clinic with questions about your home program.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

You can start physical therapy in California without a physician's referral. Some insurance plans require one for coverage. Our front desk can check your plan before your first visit.

How long is an appointment?

A standard session runs 30 to 60 minutes depending on your condition. Follow-up appointments include 25 minutes one-on-one with your therapist.

Will I see the same therapist every time?

We aim to keep you with the same therapist throughout your care. Most patients work with the same therapist for their full course of treatment.

How many visits will I need?

Your therapist will discuss your recovery plan after the evaluation and review it as you progress. Ask about the expected number of visits and what you'll work on at home.

What if I don't have insurance?

Self-pay patients are welcome. Call our front desk to discuss your visit.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear comfortable clothes that let you move and give your therapist access to the area that hurts. Bring your photo ID, insurance card, medication list and any braces, splints or crutches you use. Please arrive ten minutes early.
